    SINGAPORE – Several cars suffered heat damage after a fire broke out at a multi-storey carpark in Ang Mo Kio on the afternoon of Jan 27. When contacted, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at Block 712A Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 at about 12.40pm. The fire, which involved two cars on the third level of the carpark, was extinguished using two water jets and a compressed air foam backpack.

    SINGAPORE - A woman was injured after a tree branch fell on her in Redhill on the morning of Jan 26. According to Chinese-language news outlet Shin Min Daily News, the incident occurred in front of the Redhill Market and Food Centre. The branch reportedly had a diameter of about 16cm. In response to queries from The Straits Times, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said it received a call for assistance along Redhill Close at about 9.25am.

    China’s first corgi police dog, Fu Zai, had its year-end bonus docked after it was caught sleeping on the job and peeing in its own basin. Born in August 2023, Fu Zai joined the police force in Weifang, Shandong province, as a reserve explosives-detection operative in January 2024. It soon became a viral sensation with its expressive eyes, stubby legs and remarkable skills, and has since graduated to become a fully qualified police dog.
