SINGAPORE – Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong led his PAP team to victory in the newly-formed Punggol GRC, beating a team of first-time candidates from the WP with 55.17 per cent of the vote. The WP clinched 44.83 per cent of the vote. Of the votes cast, 63,589 went to PAP, 51,663 went to the WP, and 822 were rejected.

SINGAPORE - Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Leader of the House Indranee Rajah will anchor the newly-created Pasir Ris-Changi GRC, in a surprise move from her Tanjong Pagar GRC ward. This fuels speculation that Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean, who was expected to helm the GRC, could be moved elsewhere, possibly to the hotly-contested Punggol GRC. The WP has been active there, with both parties keeping their electoral cards close to their chest.

The three new faces were unveiled on April 20 at a press conference at the party headquarters in Geylang - the fourth briefing in as many days.
