An estimated 60 people from across the political spectrum on Tuesday protested against tariffs enacted by President Donald Trump outside of the Bruce R. Thompson Building in downtown Reno, which houses the local offices of Nevada’s senators. The rally, organized by Indivisible Northern Nevada, was planned with just 24 hours notice and timed for the day before deeply unpopular tariffs enacted by Trump are set to take effect on April 9.

Nevada’s Assembly Judiciary Committee on Tuesday heard a new bill that would set guidelines to protect access to materials in school libraries across the state. Assembly Bill 416 was introduced by Las Vegas District 5 Assemblymember Brittany Miller who said the law is needed to preserve free speech. Primary sponsors also include northern Nevada’s assembly members for District 25 Selena La Rue Hatch and for District 30 Natha Anderson and Clark County’s District 18 member Venicia Considine.
