The Reno Rodeo is almost completely sold out; if you didn’t plan ahead, you won’t have a seat in the grandstands.

    Officials with the Nevada Immigration Coalition (NIC) said this week agents from federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are conducting operations in northern Nevada and have detained an estimated 30-35 individuals. The suspected enforcement action has led to the cancellation of next week’s planned Immigrant Lobby Day at the Nevada Legislature.

Finance Director Vicki Van Buren presented the fiscal year 2026 (FY26) overview and reported that the general fund is projected to have around $321 million in expenses, but a gap of $16 million in revenue. The intention for budget discussions focused on how to make the cuts while retaining city services.
