We are in yet another heat wave, and as much as I love summer, I wouldn’t mind if the temps were more like 80 degrees than 90 and hot and humid. But I’m not going to complain (more than I am already) because honestly, summer is the best. Winter is cold and long. And it means lots of pool days and water play and just taking it easier because it’s too hot to do a ton.

Amazon Prime Day Deals 2024 are here. The online behemoth’s annual summer sale takes place from July 16-17. During those two days, there will be a mix of ongoing sales on pretty much everything, from power tools to toilet paper to groceries to home decor and furniture to clothes to toys. I mean literally everything. But then there will also be lighting deals. Those are basically flash sales that pop up throughout the day and last anywhere from one to several hours.

Well, we are back at the camp and squeezing in work between camp and naps and activities after a full week celebrating the Fourth of July. I’m actually sort of impressed at how well we transitioned back and really transitioned to a completely new routine. The kids started a new camp that’s only 1/2 day, so I have less time to get work done, but maybe that was the key. Starting a new routine instead of diving back into the old and keeping camp a bit shorter.

The Nordstrom anniversary sale 2024 starts July 15, with early access available to cardholders already, and I am sure everyone is going to be covering it per usual. It also coincides with a lot of other big retailer sales, so it’s easy to get overwhelmed. I find people tend to impulse purchase during these sales or just totally opt out because they’re overwhelming and just get pushed out way too much. I debated even covering the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2024.

Hello and happy Fourth of July! I hope you all had the best time celebrating. We were at the lake house doing all the fun summer things — sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking, roasting s’mores, bbqing, staying in our swimsuits all day and our pajamas way too late, and it was wonderful. We did fireworks on the Fourth and now we’re just soaking in some fun in the sun before we head back home for the town fireworks and festival.

We are officially in July friends, really the second month of summer in my calculations. We’re also halfway through the year. Yep, I’m sorry to scare you but I’m doing it for your own good. We’re halfway through 2024, and it’s a great time to look back at your resolutions and make sure you’re on track, shift your goals, and make sure you are looking back at 2024 in January and accomplished all you wanted to. Your entire life can change in a year. It’s trite, but it’s true.

June is almost over somehow. I know summer will be over in a flash as it always is, but man it’s flying by! James didn’t get out of school until the second week of June, so that also made the month feel short. I know summer by definition is short and a flash in the pan, but I really never want it to end, so I hate that it’s going by quickly. It’s such a special time with the kids. I get to slow down and be with them more.

Every season, I like to put together a bucket list with all the things I want to accomplish as a family. It’s my approach to making the most out of every season and really trying to squeeze the most out of these short years we have as a family before the kids are heading to overnight summer camp or even college (tear). I know that is forever away, but I’m constantly reminded that the days are long but the years are short, and I really want to make the most of our time as a family.

One of the most common questions I get and actually most busy moms I know or follow get asked is: how do you do it all? The short answer? I don’t. They don’t. No one can do it all. There’s always things you give up or don’t do well. There are days you kill it and feel like you’re superhuman and days you fail so horribly you cry. But no one does it all well. This is really true of parenting in general, whether you work or not. It’s a juggling act, and it’s never easy.

This was our first official week of summer break for all three kids, and needless to say, we’re loving it. It’s been a lot of shuttling everyone around to their different camps and activities and juggling the childcare and work, but I am really loving the warm days and afternoons at the pool and ice cream every day just because. I mean, you know, I just live for summer, and couldn’t be happier that it’s here.
