Nashville, after getting off to a huge early lead, held on to win the game, 14-11. The Sounds wasted no time teeing off on Knights starter, Chris Rodriguez. The first six Nashville batters ended up scoring off of a walk, a single, and four extra-base hits.

He gave up one run in each inning he appeared in (four), and two of the four runs were scored off of home runs. Iriarte also walked three batters while striking out five, and accounted for a wild pitch and a balk.

Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 4, Charlotte Knights 3 (Gameday box) (Statcast box)This series against the Jumbo Shrimp has been a doozy, and the Knights dropped their sixth in a row to get swept by Jacksonville and fall to 6-9 on the season.

Jason Miller/Getty Images It was a bitter cold day in Ohio for their home opener, though Cleveland Guardians fans would be treated to the Chicago White Sox blowing yet another game. The pitchers were the stars of the show for both teams, but the South Siders walked in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lose to the Guardians, 1-0. Shane Smith made his second start of 2025, and he was even better than his season opener last week.

Prior to today’s series opener at Cleveland, the Chicago White Sox returned LHP Tyler Gilbert from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 15-day injured list.
