    Rice-surplus Telangana, which emerged as one of the top three rice-producing States in the country, has set its eyes on export opportunities to cash in on its huge rice reserves. To start with, it has exported its maiden consignment, comprising 12,500 tonnes of rice, to the Philippines on Monday. Telangana Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy flagged off the ship carrying the rice consignment from the Kakinada Port in Andhra Pradesh.
