No casualty has yet been recorded, but a whole enclave of about three major storey-buildings with many stores and offices, hundreds of container shops, hundreds of stalls and table-top shops, containing merchandise worth millions of Ghana cedis, have been destroyed in the fire.

They attacked any person on sight, destroyed the ballot boxes, tables, chairs, before and ballot papers in the process. Scores of people, including journalists, have been injured in the disturbances, were carried out in the full glare of security personnel.

By Kwabia Owusu-Mensah Adansi Akrofoum (Ash), Dec. 09, GNA – Mr Joseph Azumah, a 36-year-old businessman and the Parliamentary Candidate for the NDC in the 2024 elections, has snatched the Akrofuom constituency seat from the hands of the NPP. Akrofuom has been a known NPP seat in the Ashanti region, since 1996. However, the tsunami that hit the NPP in the 2024 elections did not spare the constituency seat, which had been occupied by the NPP since 1996.
