Alex Palou is now cemented in IndyCar Series history after the three-time champion became the first Spaniard to win the Indianapolis 500 and has closed the door on F1. The Indy 500 had been the 28-year-old’s unattainable dream since Palou debuted in IndyCar in 2020. Despite becoming the class of the field, he had not won on any oval, let alone at the famous Brickyard, before finally conquering the crown jewel event with Chip Ganassi Racing.

Jorge Martin sent the MotoGP rider market into overdrive by using an exit clause in his contract to leave Aprilia, yet his terms might not be the only deal that is now torn up. Yuki Tsunoda convinced Red Bull to pull a U-turn after rejecting him to replace Sergio Perez with Liam Lawson, but he is now the latest to struggle next to Max Verstappen. The 25-year-old started the 2025 F1 season with a point to prove after Red Bull left Tsunoda at Racing Bulls and promoted Lawson in December after deciding to release Perez. But they quickly came to regret it and Tsunoda replaced Lawson at Red Bull after a mere two rounds.

Francesco Bagnaia goes to the Aragon Grand Prix desperately needing a response to falling 72 points behind Ducati teammate Marc Marquez in the 2025 championship. Form has eluded Bagnaia in recent events, with the 28-year-old scoring just four points over the last two rounds at Le Mans and Silverstone. The Italian also abandoned the race-winning strategy in the French Grand Prix, before Bagnaia crashed while P13 in the British Grand Prix.

Carlos Sainz had just started to find his feet at Williams, yet the Madrid native failed to score a point in the Spanish Grand Prix for the first time in his F1 career last Sunday. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya welcomed Sainz to Montmelo for the 11th time in his F1 career last weekend. But Williams have not fared well at the track in recent seasons and had another day to forget in the 2025 Spanish GP, as Sainz finished P14 and Alex Albon retired.

Good on @NicholasLatifi for calling out the abhorrent abuse he received after the #AbuDhabiGP. No matter how the final laps played out, that had nothing to do with him while his crash is just part of #F1 and battling for any and every position.

Really can’t see this as the end. Expected the stewards would deny Mercedes’ protest of the restart, but surely Merc take it to CAS - how can the #F1 title be decided by Masi making a hash of a clear rule? Either way, not how Hamilton or Verstappen will have wanted today to end
