BOXSCOREThe Cowboys took care of business again on Sunday, leading to their second series sweep of the season. Oklahoma State defeated UCF 10-6 at O’Brate Stadium. The Pokes led 6-0 after three and held a 10-2 edge going into the eighth before the Knights attempted a rally. Brock Thompson (1-for-3), Colin Brueggemann (2-for-4) and Jayson Jones (2-for-4) and all went yard early, creating a big lead the Knights weren’t able to overcome.

The Cowboys and Sooners will square off again in OKC. Oklahoma State and Oklahoma are set to square off Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Paycom Center in OKC, according to a report by college hoops insider Jon Rothstein. The Cowboys and Sooners rekindled their rivalry at about the same time last year, with OSU falling to then No. 13 Oklahoma 80-65 on Dec. 14 at Paycom. OSU would go on to finish 17-18 in Steve Lutz’s first year after a third-round exit in the NIT.

It was part of a busy weekend as teams rushed to fill needs they failed to during the draft. Ogbah comes in as the projected No. 3 edge rusher behind Jaguars Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker. The veteran DE spent the last five years with the Miami Dolphins (just a five or so hour drive south).

The 2025 NFL Draft came to a close on Saturday and four Cowboys were drafted. What remains for the rest of the NFL-hopeful Pokes is to see where they might land on an undrafted free agent deal. These are sometimes considered favorable than a late round pick, which is also don’t come with a guaranteed deal, in that it allows player and his reps more agency in selecting their landing spot. The fourth Cowboy is off the board. Oklahoma State cornerback Korie Black is headed to the Giants. New York drafted Black with the 246th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft. In 62 games at OSU, Black racked up 100 tackles, 21 passes defended and four interceptions. As a senior last season, he logged career highs with 36 tackles, nine passes defended and three picks. In 2023, Black tie for the seven-fewest targets among qualifying cornerbacks per PFF.
NFL Draft: Ollie Gordon II Selected in Sixth Round by Miami Dolphins

The nation’s best running back a year ago fell to the sixth round. Ollie Gordon is headed to South Beach. The former Doak Walker winner was taken 179th overall by the Miami Dolphins. Gordon led the nation, rushing for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns on his way to picking up that hardware in 2023, but a drop off in his numbers and the Cowboys’ offense apparently hurt his draft stock in 2025. He is the 17th running back drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.
NFL Draft: Collin Oliver Selected in the Fifth Round by Green Bay Packers

The Cowboys’ most potent edge rusher is headed the Pack. OSU linebacker/defensive end Collin Oliver was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He was taken 159th overall. The Oklahoma native led the Cowboys in sacks his first three seasons in Stillwater — and probably would have again had his senior season not been shortened due to injury — despite playing under three different defensive coordinators and changing from defensive end to linebacker, mid-career.
