Stick check passed. The MIAA released its boys and girls lacrosse seeds and brackets Wednesday afternoon. The top 32 teams in each of the four boys and girls lacrosse divisions will qualify for the postseason along with any team ranked lower with a record above .500. Games are scheduled to begin Friday but can start Thursday if both athletic directors agree. The state finals are scheduled for June 13-15.

Play ball. The MIAA released its 2025 baseball and softball state tournament brackets Wednesday morning. The top 32 teams in each of the five divisions for both baseball and softball qualify for the postseason as well as any teams rated lower but with a record .500 or better. First pitch is scheduled for Friday, but teams can play Thursday if both athletic directors agree. Baseball Round of 32 games will be played Sunday or Monday followed by Round of 16 contests June 4 and 5.

The spring state tournaments are upon us. With six sports in action and 31 brackets to monitor, that's a lot of information flying around. Opening rounds began Tuesday with tennis, and sports like volleyball, rugby, lacrosse, baseball and softball will follow later in the week. We'll be monitoring the action as it progresses and aggregating the results here.
