On Wednesday, a cold front will move into the area. Ahead of it, temperatures will climb to near 80º, and a few showers can’t be ruled out as the front passes through. A thunderstorm can’t be ruled out but no severe weather is expected.

    QUAD CITIES, IA/Ill. (KWQC) -- A conditional threat of severe weather is in place for the TV6 viewing area later this afternoon through the overnight hours. A layer of warmer air aloft will likely prevent storm development this afternoon. However, if the cap breaks, a couple isolated storms could develop and turn severe. The main threat would be large hail and tornadoes, and likely northwest of the Quad Cities where a Level 3 out of 5 risk of severe weather is in place.
