BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - The cause of a large weekend fire at Wallace’s Garden Center in Bettendorf is still under investigation. One firefighter was taken to the hospital. Garden center owner Kate Terrell told KWQC TV6 that she hopes to reopen by the end of the week, but for now the business is temporarily closed. The fire happened Saturday afternoon and could be seen across the Quad Cities Area.

Share CORDOVA, Illinois (KWQC) - Crews at Constellation Energy’s Nuclear Power Plant in Cordova battled a fire in an electrical room around 4 a.m. Thursday, according to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The incident prompted officials at the plant to declare an “Unusual Event” - the lowest of the U.S. NRC emergency classifications. According to reports submitted to the NRC, the fire was quickly extinguished by the plants onsite fire crews.

QUAD CITIES, IA/Ill. (KWQC) -- Record broken! We soared into the 90s today, breaking our previous record high temperature. We continue to monitor satellite and radar closely for the potential for storm development east of the river this afternoon. This will be ahead of an advancing cold front that will sweep through the region this afternoon and early evening. We add a touch more humidity to the mix, which could lead to a few garden variety thunderstorms Monday afternoon and Tuesday. These will be spotty in nature, but could provide some much needed rainfall for some hometowns.
