The 2025 US Open should be filled with most of the country’s top talent. Macey Kilty (65 kg) accepted her Final X bid as a returning World medalist, while 2024 Olympic bronze medalist Helen Maroulis’s status is pending. Neither are competing in Las Vegas. Returning Olympian Dom Parrish (53 kg) hasn’t entered yet, nor has 2024 68 kg Olympic gold medalist Amit Elor, who will presumably move up to 72 kg.

One of Iowa’s greatest wrestlers is making a comeback — sort of. Jeff McGinness was an NCAA champion for the University of Iowa in 1995 and 1998 after compiling a 172-0 record and winning four state titles for Iowa City High (1990-93). He is the only Hawkeye wrestler to win multiple NCAA titles at a weight two higher than his first championship (126 and 142).

Bella Williams, U20 and U23, 2nd at 59 kgHigh schooler Williams trains at the Elite Accelerator in Colorado Springs. She reached the finals of the U23 Nationals and the U20 World Team Trials.
