INTRODUCTION The adaptive evolution of insects in extreme environments is one of the intriguing scientific questions in the fields of evolutionary biology. Among these environments are high-altitude mountain ecosystems, which are unique and declining due to climate change, posing a threat to their flora and fauna (Shen et al., 2023). The European Alps, with distinctive climate and geography characteristics, are one of the prominent mountain ranges in Europe.

INTRODUCTION Despite micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) imaging of dried insect specimens is non-destructive, authentic and minimally invasive, it has been sparsely used in descriptive insect systematics. In this paper, we focus on applying micro-CT imaging to yield diagnostic images in descriptive insect taxonomy in a non-destructive way using rare dried and pinned museum specimens.

AbstractThis paper investigates the effect of state retirement plan mandates on the supply of employer-sponsored retirement plans (ESRPs) by firms. These policies require employers to either (1) offer ESRPs to workers or (2) facilitate automatic payroll deductions that are deposited into individual retirement accounts (IRAs) established for workers by the state.
