At 11:45 a.m. Sunday, the green flag will wave, starting the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500, sending 33 cars across the yard of bricks and around the 2½ mile oval in the greatest spectacle in racing. Fifty-six years ago, Bobby Unser won the first of his three 500s, part of the Unser family’s nine championships, the final by Al Unser Jr. in 1994. In 1987, Bobby’s younger brother Al Unser Sr. won the last of his four 500s in a car that was never intended to run in the race.

Think Pinnacle Bank Arena no longer gets, to cop John Lennon’s phrase, "the toppermost of the poppermost?"Well, think again. Sleep Token, the masked-and-anonymous English outfit set to play the arena Sept. 30, is, undisputedly, the hottest band going. That was proven this week when Sleep Token’s “Even in Arcadia” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with 127,000 equivalent album units, the biggest total for a hard rock album in nearly two years.

The Mavericks are not now nor have they ever been a country band. Sure, The Mavericks received a pair of Country Music Association awards, three Academy of Country Music awards and a Best Country album Grammy back in the '90s. They've seen songs like "What A Crying Shame," "Oh What a Thrill" and "Here Comes The Rain" run up the country charts. But, stylistically and culturally, The Mavericks aren't just country.
