CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Families waiting for answers in Iowa cold cases are finding new hope after DNA technology led to an arrest in a 1983 Linn County murder. Erin Pospisil went missing in Cedar Rapids in 2001. TV9 talked to her stepmother, Carolyn Pospisil, who believes DNA could help in her case. The last time Pospisil saw her daughter, she was 15. “I still have hope that at some point she’s going to walk through the door. Or that we’re going to find her somewhere,” Carolyn Pospisil said.

MT. VERNON, Iowa (KCRG) - The Kroul family farm in Mt. Vernon is the subject of the first episode in a docuseries called Farms of America. “You can’t depend on the income from just normal farming. One little downturn can really put some operations in trouble,” owner John Kroul said in the first episode. Kroul decided to take a risk and expand his family farm after buying it from his parents during the 1980s farm crisis. That diversification is why Kroul Farms was chosen for the series.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Hundreds of future engineers walked across the graduation stage at the University of Iowa on Sunday. But the next step might be harder. “Some people are drowning in jobs, some people are thirsty for jobs. It kind of depends on your GPA (grade point average), how many internships you’ve had,” computer science graduate Rabi Alaya said. Alaya and his fellow graduate in computer science Joseph Bartoszczyk said finding jobs in their field is a challenge.
