College basketball has seen a resurgence of sorts. The non-conference slate might have been the best I’ve seen in a decade. The start of conference play has been chaotic. The powers at the top of the mountain are scary. Mid-Major basketball is peak cinema. The College Notebook is a reader-supported publication. It's hard to keep up with what the Auburn Tigers are doing on offense. Auburn has now scored three touchdowns on just six plays from scrimmage. Thorne completed a second touchdown to Cam Coleman - this time a 44-yard bomb - to put Auburn up 21-0 on Alabama A&M. Thorne already has 132 yards passing and two scores. He failed to eclipse 132 yards passing in seven of Auburn's 13 games last season. Extremely aggressive game plan from Hugh Freeze & the Tigers to start this one.

The Auburn Tigers are just moments away from kicking off their 2024 season. Head coach Hugh Freeze is expected to improve upon his 6-7 campaign in 2023 with the help of a fresh infusion of talent from the Tigers' top-10 recruiting class.
