The city of Abilene's Stormwater Services Division regularly works to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations for stormwater management and water quality protection. Due to these regulations, city employees must make efforts to clean up creeks, streets and drainage systems to prevent pollution to the city's water supply. Abilene residents pay a monthly stormwater utility fee which pays for maintenance and improvement to the stormwater drainage system and other stormwater activities.

Any registered Taylor County resident may vote at any of the locations. What's on the ballot? The city of Abilene will have a general election to fill two City Council positions. Wylie ISD approved over $11 million in renovations and repairs to district facilities. The projects include HVAC system upgrades, roof repairs, track and field renovations, and painting and flooring. Work is scheduled to begin after the end of this school year. The Wylie ISD School Board approved several contracts at a Monday meeting which will cost the district over $11 million.
