    University of Miami Ohio redshirt junior and Madison’s Evan Appelwick was tied for the third most home runs in NCAA Division I college baseball with 13 as of April 2. He is tied with seven other players. Leading the nation in home runs is Grant Gallagher of East Tennessee State University. Appelwick is tied for fourth with three other players for home runs per game with .48 per contest. Gallagher is leading with .56 home runs per game. Appelwick is tied for 15th in runs batted in with 41 in 27 games.

    Madison High School senior Ben Brooks was named to the Class A All State Second Team recently. Brooks averaged 18.4 points per game while grabbing 6.5 rebounds per contest and dished out 3.6 assists per game. Four seniors, one junior and one sophomore were named to the first team.

    Madison High School senior Ben Brooks was named to the Dakota XII All-Conference first team while junior Myles Schneider was named to the honorable mention squad. Joining Brooks on the first unit were seniors Griffen Goodbary of Sioux Falls Christian and Luke Bruns of Dakota Valley; juniors Tate Gerdes of Lennox and Trey Hansen of Vermillion along with sophomore Connor Mebius of West Central.
