Erba Brüsca è il nome piemontese dell’acetosella, una pianta il cui stelo sa di vino e di aceto. «Da bambina lo succhiavo spesso perché era come se stessi bevendo il vino e mi sentivo grande» racconta Simona Da Giau. «L’ho scelto come nome del mio brand di ceramista per esprimere la mia passione sconfinata per le piante, il fil rouge della mia vita. Ho fatto il liceo artistico per amore della ceramica, mi sono laureata in Botanica e oggi vivo nel verde della collina di Superga, a Torino».

La storia di Tufa - Piccole sculture ricorda un po’ i ‘Quattro amici al bar’ di Gino Paoli. Un gruppo di giovani di Matera si frequenta nei Sassi e, un po’ per scherzo e un po’ per gioco, inizia a realizzare piccole sculture con il tufo, poi a mano a mano tutti prendono altre strade.

At the beginning of the century, the former CEAT cable and tyre factory in Borgo Rossini – a lively district of Turin where Cino Zucchi’s Nuvola Lavazza is also located – was converted into a residential building. We are talking about one of the first and most significant reconversions in the area, where numerous industrial spaces now house offices, studios and homes. And it is in this building that the interesting flat refurbished by Velvet Studio for a young businessman is located.

In the Eixample, Barcelona’s fashionable shopping district, Aureli Mora and Omar Ornaque’s AMOO studio has renovated a small flat of just 47 square metres, employing brilliant solutions based on colour and geometry to release the space from its existing orthogonal rigidity. Recurrent ideas in their work, through which they are able reshape spaces in an unusual way.
