ObjectivesThis systematic review aims to comprehensively summarise all existing literature on the association between infections (by type, site, severity) and telomere length or attrition across a broad range of study designs (see eligibility criteria) in adult humans. We aim to establish whether there is an association between infection and telomere length to inform future studies. Is there an association between infections and telomere length or attrition?
