Numerous objections have been raised over plans to put an "eyesore" burger style truck outside Cheltenham's picturesque Pittville Pump Rooms. The Cheltenham Trust wants permission to install a shiny aluminum Airstream type vehicle at the historic building, to act as a temporary cafe. It said the plans should be allowed as a "significant recent precedent" had been set when the council approved metal pergola's outside 131 The Promenad e in Cheltenham.

A decision on the Gloucestershire Airport sale is expected this month. Bosses recently met with two preferred bidders and the process is now "nearing its conclusion". A special council meeting has been scheduled for June 26 where Gloucester City Council members will be asked to vote on which offer to take. Cheltenham Borough Council has not revealed when or how it will make its decision on the sale but both councils will need to be in agreement before a deal can be finalised.

Gloucestershire commuters could benefit from millions of extra train seats through The Midlands Rail Hub project. The £1.75billion scheme will add 140 new train services to Worcestershire Parkway a week, giving more frequent services towards Cheltenham, Gloucester. Birmingham and Cardiff. A new report by government-funded Midlands Connect said the transport project could help to facilitate new housing across large parts of the region.

Detailed plans to build 70 affordable homes on the former Monkscroft School site have been revealed. Cheltenham Borough Council (CBC) wants to turn the 4.44acre plot of land into 49 social rent properties and 21 shared ownership homes. It says the development is needed to meet demand for less expensive housing in the area. The land, which sits opposite Hesters Way Park, was part of Monkscroft School which closed in 2008 and demolished in 2009.

Corporate insolvencies in England and Wales rose last month to the highest level since July. They increased by 2.9% in April to 2,053, up from 1,996 in March, according to new figures from trade body R3. This is a 5.1% decrease compared to last April's figure of 2,163 but a leap up of 13.2% since April 2023 when there were 1,813.
