Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service was first called to the blaze, off the A628 Woodhead Pass near Glossop in Derbyshire, at 18:57 BST on Thursday. The road was closed between the A57 at Hollingworth and the A616 at Flouch while firefighters dealt with the incident, but it has since reopened.

Officers were called to Downing Street in Sutton-in-Ashfield at about 17:45 BST on Thursday. Nottinghamshire Police said the victim drove himself to hospital after sustaining two "small stab wounds to his torso", which are not believed to be life-threatening. A cordon remains in place on Friday while officers continue to gather evidence.

Firefighters have issued a warning about smoke alarms after attending a blaze sparked by an unattended diva candle. Crews were called to a house in Canon Street, Leicester, on Tuesday night and put out a fire on the ground floor. In a social media post, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service's Eastern Station said there were no smoke alarms in the property, but both occupiers managed to escape before crews arrived.

He tied his victim to a chair and demanded to know the pin numbers for his bank cards while threatening to stab him with a knife, Derbyshire Police said.
