Work to transform New Street in Malahide is set to go ahead after a High Court case against the plans was quashed. Fingal County Council has said it will "move immediately" to carry out the plans for the €6million project. Once a tender is found it will take around 16 months to complete. According to the council, the New Street project is designed to bring an open air, European-style feel to the heart of Malahide village.

An apartment building for older persons has been proposed for a prominent site in Crumlin. The site, on St Mary's Road, is located between the Star Bingo building and Crumlin Hospital and currently houses a childcare facility. As part of the proposal, the childcare facility will be demolished. The apartment building is proposed to be between two and seven storeys.

Gardai have launched an investigation into an incident that left a man in his 40s hospitalised with serious injuries. The incident, which happened in the early hours of Monday morning, took place in The Coast area of Baldoyle. The man was hospitalised with serious injuries. Gardai confirmed that an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Locals told Dublin Live that the scene was sealed off when they woke in the morning, with a blue tent in place at the home.

Dublin institution Luigi Malones has announced its closure later this month due to "plummeting turnover". The Temple Bar restaurant, which has been trading in Dublin for 28 years, will close this coming Sunday, April 13 for the last time. The owners said that due to ongoing construction work right outside its front door its number of visitors has plummeted. They have said that the works over the last three months has been "the straw that broke the camel's back".
