    A MAJOR coffee chain with over 2,000 stores is to close in a matter of days. Costa Coffee will shutter its branch at Shell Highworth Service Station on April 20, according to a report in the Swindon Advertiser. The site is set to be replaced by a Greggs, sparking mixed reactions from locals. One person said the closure was the "worst decision for Highworth". But another said the area has a "few other coffee shops, both much better than Costa".

    AVERAGE earnings in the UK have remained flat, fresh data shows. Weeklyearnings, excluding bonuses reached 5.9% in December 2024 to February 2025,the Office for National Statistics has found. This is compared to the previous quarter where wages excluding bonuses grew by 5.9% with areas like retail and construction seeing strong growth. The Bank of England watches jobs and wages figures closely when making a decision about interest rates. Last month, rate-setters voted to the base rate at 4.5%.

    A MAJOR bargain chain has slashed the price of popular Easter Eggs to just a few pence. Eagle-eyed shoppers were stunned to see Kit Kat Chunky and Smarties eggs on sale for just 95p at Home Bargains. The 100g eggs are reduced down from £1.25, giving customers the chance to save 30p. Nestle's Kit Kat egg comes with a small chunky bar, whilst the smarties egg is filled with the colourful chocolate pieces.

    A MAJOR supermarket has slashed the cost of veg to just a few pennies as Easter shoppers rush to pick up a bargain. Morrisons has cut the cost of carrots, swedes and parsnips to just 8p. The deal launches across stores and online today, and will last until Sunday April 20. To access the offer you will need to be a Morrisons More Card holder, which is free and will give you access to rewards and money off items in store.
