CORUNNA, Mich. (WNEM) - The third annual Shiawassee Strawberry Festival is returning to the Shiawassee County Fairgrounds just in time for the start of summer. Organizer Paulette Darling says it’s a celebration of the local farmers who make it all possible. The festival runs June 21-22. This year, they’re partnering with Back to the Bricks on Sunday for a classic car show and live music from the Shiatown Band. Saturday is Kids Day. Admission is free and parking is $5.00.

State lawmakers are considering a new bill today that would test children for levels of PFAS chemicals in their blood. The bill would allow children under the age of 11 in certain areas to be tested for free. Blood samples would be collected by their doctor and sent to a state lab for testing.
