    The notion of "place" is an interesting one. Depending on the context, place can mean an actual geographical or physical location or a point in time. Chambers (1999) notes in their conclusion that we - curriculum scholars - need to continue asking ourselves and others, "Who are we?" (p.148), and this is a great place to start my narrative.

    I am a morning swimmer, and now, with the clocks turned back, it's still dark when I make my way to the pool. For some context, I live in a condo building, so "making my way" to the pool is not a herculean effort. More like a groggy shuffle to the elevator, then a shuffle to the pool. Whoever designed our indoor pool is/was a genius. When I arrived, the moon was a perfect bright crescent, and the sky was dark blue with a hint of purple. Cloudless. Still. Quiet. Peaceful.
