    Cedar Creek has only had a girls lacrosse program for 11 years. And early on, it was a struggle: in the first seven years of the program’s existence, the Pirates won 20 games. And lost 79. Enter Rebecca Gordon, who took over as head coach in 2022 and the Pirates went 6-13, which matched a program-record for wins. “Being committed to the sport, when I got here, and even still, lacrosse was never anyone’s No. 1 sport,” Gordon said.
