PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man faces multiple felony charges in connection to a shooting that turned into a barricade situation in Phoenix on Sunday. Phoenix police were called about a shooting that happened around 12:40 p.m. near 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road . When officers arrived at the scene, they learned a man was taken to the hospital by his family after being shot. Police said the man’s injuries were not life-threatening.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona’s bald eagle population grew to its largest size ever documented this year! Officials report a record 90 adult pairs occupied breeding areas across the state, hatching a record 96 baby birdies. Seventy-seven of these reached the important first milestone of taking their first flight. “Arizona‘s bald eagle population continues to be strong,” said Kenneth Jacobson, management coordinator for the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

For each first down the Cardinals have this season, the team will donate $250 to the “First Downs for Flight” program. PAGE, AZ. (KPHO/Gray News) - A dad in Arizona confronted a home intruder who was attempting to kidnap his child, according to authorities. Just after 7:15 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a neighborhood after reports that a man had broken into a home. As detectives were investigating, they learned that the child’s dad was in a bedroom talking on the phone when he heard noises coming from the living room.

Share PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead after a shooting broke out in a south Phoenix neighborhood early Sunday. Just before 4:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting near 35th Avenue and Baseline Road . When officers arrived on the scene, they found the man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The suspect is still at large. No information about the victim’s identity has been released.

PHOENIX (AZFamily/AP) — The Arizona Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the nearly 98,000 voters whose citizenship documents hadn’t been confirmed can cast their full ballots in state and local races in the upcoming November election. The ruling contended that Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer and other county recorders do not have the authority to change voter registration statuses to federal-only ballots because those voters registered long ago.
