HARLETON โ With no playoff implications at stake and low pressure, the Elysian Fields Lady Jackets (7-21, 5-8) upset the Harleton Lady Cats (7-17, 7-6) in a 6-4 district win on Tuesday. Layla Adkins started in the circle for Elysian Fields. She pitched a solid game going all seven innings while allowing four runs, one earned on four hits, walking two and striking out three. Harleton is known to have strong bats in their lineup and great plate discipline.

The Hallsville baseball and softball teams came out victorious against Marshall in a Class 5A-District 10 matchup on Friday at Marshall High School. BaseballNo. 24 Hallsville advanced to 19-8 overall and 9-3 in district. They defeated Marshall 10-2 in a great display of offense and pitching. Preston Thomas pitched five innings, allowing two hits, one walk and striking out four. Peyton Winner pitched 0.1 innings in relief allowing two hits and two runs while walking two.

With ace Carson Wallace on the bump, Harleton dismantled Beckville 10-0 in four innings with dominant pitching and hitting. Harleton was not going to let Beckville come into their house and defeat them in any fashion. With the loss in their minds, the Wildcats came into the game determined to get revenge.

Archers from Elysian Fields ISD traveled to Belton to participate in the state archery tournament from March 25-26, put on by the National Archery in Schools program. The elementary participants placed sixth in the state with fifth-grader Joseph "Jeep" Paine placing ninth place in the bullseye. The middle school participants placed 20th, while the high schoolers placed 48th.
