Cara Sims added three more state titles to her cross country and track resumรฉ in the 2024-2025 season, earning the Marshall News Messenger girls athlete of the year. Sims broke numerous personal records throughout both the cross country and track seasons while placing in nearly every meet she competed in. She started the cross country season with a first place finish in the first ever Jacket Cross Country relay meet held at the Marshall City Arena.

After hanging up the football cleats and focusing on baseball, the Abilene Christian signee, took a massive leap in his pitching skills. He upped his fastball velocity from 88 mph to 95 mph between his junior and senior seasons. Wallace holds a five pitch arsenal that not many high school pitchers can say they can successfully execute.

Brandon Rhode was constantly reminded of the Cadet Honor Code during his time at the U.S. Military Academy. The oath demanding honesty and integrity is engraved on a plaque at West Point, NY. Rhode, who grew up in Arizona and had been recruited onto the academyโs gymnastics program, would walk past the monument almost every day. He was age 20 when he described how he had โdecided to stop hiding,โ in a coming out story published on Outsports three years ago.
