ON THIS DAY in 1930, the 1,046-foot (319-meter) Chrysler Building in New York City, the tallest man-made structure at the time, opens to the public. Locally, Carbondale Main Street invites you to its summer Brown Bag Concert Series. The series is one of our region’s longest running events. Concerts are held at Carbondale’s Town Square Pavilion each Wednesday in May and June from Noon to 1 p.m. Concerts are free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seats and lunches.

Parking is free and available in the gold and blue lots. Staff will be available to discuss technical and administrative support opportunities at multiple IDOT locations throughout the area. There will be workshops and other state agencies on hand to provide information and assistance with applying for state jobs.
