    JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- One professor from Northwest Missouri State University received the Governor's Award for Excellence from Governor Mike Kehoe in Jefferson City on April 2. Shelly Hiatt is a professor of counseling at NWMSU's School of Health and Wellness. Hiatt joined Northwest's faculty in 1997 and teaches courses related to psychology and school guidance and counseling.

    ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- City of St. Joseph facilities normally open on Sunday's will be closed in observance of the Easter holiday. With Easter Sunday being on Sunday, April 20, all City offices, the landfill, recycling center, REC center and the Remington Nature Center will be closed. The Northside Parade will still begin at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Middleton Street and St. Joseph Avenue. The parade route will continue north along St. Joseph Avenue and will end at Brothers Market. The parade features floats, bands, walking groups and more.
