Making moves. The good news is that every player on the Seattle Seahawks' currently bloated roster showed up to organized team activities (OTAs) at some point over the last two weeks. There were no holdouts or contract drama, partly due to quarterback Geno Smith and wide receiver DK Metcalf being traded. There are several injury issues, but these are also pre-training camp practices where there is no contact and no reason to risk players getting hurt.

Shrewd. General manager John Schneider might be having the complete opposite kind of offseason than he had last year for the Seattle Seahawks. Schneider's 2024 draft class is still iffy, and none of his free agent signings worked out extremely well. 2025 is different. Instead of making it a priority to only sign the team's free agents, Schneider wasn't afraid, after making massive changes offensively, to chase higher-priced free agents.

Matchup of young greats. Here we are again, and likely amid many other final matchups. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are the two best players on the ATP tour, as they have been for over a year, and just as they are likely to stay for the foreseeable future. The distance in ranking points is only growing between the Italian and the Spaniard. While Sinner has a stranglehold on the top ranking, Alcaraz is just as cemented into No. 2.

Best-case scenario (for now). It is no secret that the Seattle Seahawks' most consistent issue over the last decade is the poor offensive line play. While general manager John Schneider has been accused of not addressing the problem, Seattle has drafted nearly as many offensive linemen as any other team in the last 10 years. Part of the issue is that many of those linemen have not come high in the draft, as most have been middle-round selections. That has changed some since 2022, though.

Yet another title. We got what we wanted in the first set of the 2025 French Open women's final. Aryna Sabalenka jumped out to a 4-1 lead, playing some brilliant tennis with power and placement, and then the drama began. Sabalenka's opponent, Coco Gauff, fought back to even the set, but both players struggled to hold serve. Another break late in the set by the Belarusian forced a tie-break, which Gauff appeared set to win.
