Woman found dead inside Cypress Street home identified

The Latest:COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– On Monday, May 5, Columbia Police Department announced the identity of the woman who was found in the 2700 block of Cypress Street. The woman was identified as 22-year-old Logan Frederico of Waxhaw, North Carolina, who officials say died from a gunshot wound to the chest. Police say 30-year-old Alexander Dickey shot Frederico after breaking into the home andstealing several items, which included credit and debit cards.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — According to the Columbia Police Department, officers are investigating the suspicious death of a woman at the 2700 block of Cypress Street. Crime scene investigators have processed the location for evidence and say the woman is not a Columbia resident nor student. The Richland County Coroner’s Office is assisting with the case.

FORT JACKSON, SC (WOLO) — A basic combat training soldier was found dead during training on Thursday, April 24th, according to the Fort Jackson Garrison Public Affairs Office. The soldier who was identified as Pvt. Gabriel J. Perez was from the Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment. The 22-year-old was from Anchorage, Alaska. “Losing a teammate affects us all,” says Fort Jackson Commander, Maj. Gen. Daryl Hood.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WOLO) — According to the Myrtle Beach Police Department’s Facebook page, on Saturday at around 11:50 p.m., officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department observed a disturbance involving multiple individuals in the 900 block of North Ocean Boulevard. During the altercation near 9th Avenue North on Ocean Boulevard, one individual began firing a weapon. At that time, based on the immediate threat, one of our officers responded by discharging their firearm.
