CHICAGO — It was just before 1 a.m. when Gabrielle Lyon, executive director of Illinois Humanities, got a message that the Trump administration was cutting the nonprofit’s funding by $2 million — about one-third of its annual budget. Lyon received the news from Jeff Hardwick, acting director of the National Endowment for the Humanities, via email April 2. NORTHALSTED — Chicago Pride Fest is back on in Northalsted this summer with headliners Jesse McCartney, Deborah Cox, Aluna, Confidence Man and The Aces, organizers announced Tuesday.
