    WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s pick for Secretary of Labor backpedaled her previous support for repealing right-to-work laws. Senators pressed nominee Lori Chavez-DeRemer, a former GOP congresswoman, about a pro-union bill she co-sponsored during her time in the House. More than half of states have right-to-work laws, which prohibit private companies from requiring employees to enter a union as a condition of hiring.
