Major progress continues to be made on the new Stanley White Recreation Center in New Bern. It’s been 6 years since Hurricane Florence flooded out the previous 43-year-old facility. We recently stopped by to see how construction on the new structure is progressing. Right now, we are slated to be open by the end of 2024. Kari Warren, Director of New Bern’s Park and Recreation, says construction of the new and improved Stanley White Rec Center is right on schedule.

BEAUFORT, Carteret County — Every year Holland Shepard Group with Keller Williams Crystal Coast holds the Race to the North Pole in Beaufort to encourage bicycle donations to Toys for Tots. Holland Shepard Group has invited some of Carteret County's community and business leaders to participate in an adult tricycle race, including Meteorologist Les Still. Participants rode in a series of small races on kid-sized tricycles. A winner was crowned at the end of the last heat.
