A Morgan County man suffers serious injuries in a three-vehicle accident in congested traffic in Camden County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the 60-year-old man from Gravois Mills was driving on Highway 5 Thursday afternoon just south of Sunrise Beach when the accident occurred. The patrol says the other two drivers were stopped in traffic when the Gravois Mills man struck a SUV from behind. The impact caused the SUV to strike a pickup truck.

A Phelps County man charged with numerous counts of child molestation pleads guilty to reduced charges. Joel Eldredge, 39, of Newburg, was charged with eight counts of first-degree child molestation for touching a girl who was under the age of 14 during 2003. Eldredge pleaded guilty earlier this week to three counts of first-degree child molestation and the additional five charges were dismissed. He’ll be sentenced June 16.

Two Sedalia women are facing numerous charges for their role in a carjacking involving a blind passenger. Josephine Marek, 21, and Ashley Bardin, 23, are charged with accessory to vehicle hijacking involving a vulnerable person, accessory to first-degree robbery, accessory to second-degree assault, accessory to second-degree kidnapping, armed criminal action, and accessory to leaving the scene of an accident resulting in damage more than $1,000.

An Audrain County man is arrested for purposely crashing his pickup truck into a car occupied by a small child and two adults. Joseph Fischer, 38, of Vandalia, was arrested and charged Wednesday with three counts of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, tampering with evidence in a felony prosecution, and first-degree stalking. He’s currently being held with no bond. The charges stem from an incident Tuesday night in Vandalia.

A new trial date is scheduled for a Cooper County man charged with sexually assaulting two young girls. Troy Reed, 45, of Boonville, is charged with two counts of first-degree rape of a person less than 12, two counts of first-degree child molestation, and two counts of first-degree sodomy with a victim less than 12. The abuse came to light about a week before Reed was arrested in the spring of 2023. The victims told investigators that the abuse had been ongoing for the past five years.
