SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – An RBI base hit from Lake Country was the difference maker as the Dockhounds took the 1-0 win against Sioux City. Abdiel Layer notched a pair of hits for Sioux City while starting pitcher Peniel Otano struck out three batters in five innings of work. The X’s had an opportunity to tie the game with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, but were not able to capitalize.

The West Sioux Falcons boys soccer program has continued its upward trend the last few seasons. Just a year ago, the program notched its first winning season since 2016 – one that ended in the Falcons’ first ever trip to State. Getting a taste of the success, West Sioux wanted more.
