    Betty Lou Ferguson, age 81, of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. Mrs. Ferguson was born in Habersham County to the late Jasper and Agnes Taylor Garner. She was a lifelong resident of White County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Sissy Ferguson; granddaughter, Emily Ferguson; sister, Barbara Woods; and brothers, Dale Garner, Jim Garner, and Billy Garner. Mrs. Ferguson worked at Talon and was a member of Amy’s Creek Baptist Church.

    Mrs. Shane Mincey, age 51, of Dahlonega, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024. Shane was born in Hall County on September 27, 1972, to the late A.T. and Glenda Nix Parrish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Judy Martin. Shane was a member of Nimblewill Baptist Church and an active member of the Nimble Community. She loved to garden, make crafts, cook, fish, and quilt.

    (Cleveland)- The Georgia Department of Labor Thursday reported that the February unemployment rate in White County was unchanged from the previous month. The preliminary rate of 2.3 percent was the same as the revised January rate. The labor department said that in February the labor force was 17,705 or those 17,297 were employed while 408 were unemployed.

    Kevin Lee Wade, age 51, of Alto, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Born on November 25, 1972, in Demorest, he was a son of Brenda Ramey Wade of Alto and the late T. Lee Wade. Mr. Wade worked in construction, was a master carpenter, and known as a jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed helping others and would stop at nothing to do so. Kevin was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather.
