A raccoon attacked a man in a Market Basket parking lot in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on Tuesday, officials say. Portsmouth Police received a report from a third party that a young male was attacked by a raccoon in the vicinity of Market Basket, Sergeant Jordan Wells told Boston.com. At the scene, the raccoon and the alleged victim were not present when police arrived. However, roughly an hour later, police said they got a call from the man, who was receiving medical care.

The body of the 4-year-old boy who was swept away by the Merrimack River was recovered on Friday, officials say. A 35-pound pipe hit and damaged a car in Portland, Maine, on Wednesday, officials say. At 10:10 p.m., the Portland Police Department was dispatched to the Casco Bay Line parking lot at 56 Commercial St., authorities said. The pipe shattered the vehicle’s rear window and dented the frame, the department said. Police initially said that based on the damage and location, the object may have fallen from an airplane.

A woman was killed at a railroad crossing when a commuter rail train crashed into her car in Abington on Wednesday, officials say. At noon, Abington police received multiple calls reporting a train and motor vehicle collision at the railroad crossing located at Centre Avenue and Park Avenue, according to a spokesperson for the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office. At the scene, the female operator of the vehicle was found dead, the office said.

An 8-year-old child was attacked by two dogs in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Wednesday, officials say. At 12:15 p.m., authorities were dispatched to an address on Lake Avenue, according to a statement from the Manchester Fire Department. At the scene, responders found the 8-year-old child and a man who had been attacked and bitten by two dogs, the statement said. The child suffered “serious” arm injuries and was taken to Elliot Hospital for further evaluation, the department said.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in Swansea on Wednesday for allegedly filming a teenager in a fitting room at Target, officials say. On Monday at 8 p.m., Swansea Police responded to a Target store located at 579 Grand Army of the Republic Highway after receiving a report that a 17-year-old girl was filmed inside the dressing room, according to a statement from Swansea Police. “This kind of invasive and disturbing behavior has no place in our community,” Swansea Police Chief Mark Foley said.

A 65-year-old man was found dead inside a vehicle submerged in a canal in Lowell on Wednesday morning, officials say. At 9:10 a.m., a pedestrian called Lowell police to report a vehicle in the canal near Canal Street, according to a spokesperson from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. Authorities found the Lowell man dead inside the vehicle, and responding agencies removed the vehicle from the canal.
