On May 1, 2024, 49-year-old Paul Cordova was fatally shot near I-25 and South Nevada. For 13 months, his killer walked free. But police announced Tuesday that they finally had break in the case when they located suspect Brenden Briggs, 25, in a California detention facility. Briggs is now facing second-degree murder charges in Cordova’s death.

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A driver remains on the run after hitting a Springs police officer with their car Tuesday morning. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the officer was doing a welfare check at an apartment complex on Palomino Ranch Point at the time. A caller had reported seeing two people passed out in a car. “The reporting party was concerned because the occupants of the vehicle appeared to be in ‘unnatural positions,” a CSPD lieutenant said.

    EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Law enforcement is warning of new scam popping up in at least one Colorado county. The scam, which targets families of jail inmates, first popped up in Eagle County in late May. “A concerned family member called us to check if their loved one was in custody. The person had indeed been arrested,” the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said in a May 30 Facebook post.
