BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (KKTV) - An SUV took a ride down a hill Monday -- but thankfully with no one inside. Summit County deputies responded to the area of Boreas Pass Road and Hummingbird Drive just outside Breckenridge after getting reports of a vehicle that had tumbled down a steep slope. “[The] unattended vehicle ... rolled down a hill, went over a guardrail, and came to rest in a precarious position,” the sheriff’s office said.

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KKTV) - A Safeway strike in Colorado continues to grow, with employees from two more communities joining the effort Monday. The strike began Sunday, with employees from Fountain, Pueblo, Estes Park and a distribution center in Denver forming picket lines to protest what at one longtime employee called “corporate greed.”“It just makes me sad that they won’t support the people that make the money for them,” Tom Olson told 11 News reporter Alaina Tomesh.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (KKTV) - A man was shot outside a north Fort Collins home Sunday night after refusing to drop his knife while confronted by police. Officers say that they had responded to the home on Eastdale Drive after getting reports of an argument unfolding there, involving a man with a knife. “Officers located the suspect outside the home and gave commands for him to drop the weapon, but he refused to cooperate,” Fort Collins Police Services said in a social media post on the incident.

CASCADE, Colo. (KKTV) - Drivers traveling between Teller and El Paso counties can expect some delays as CDOT crews do rockfall mitigation along Ute Pass. The Colorado Department of Transportation said that work would take place in the eastbound lanes of Highway 24 between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on June 16-18 and again on June 23-25.
