Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has removed the title of a CS from his X profile. This was shortly after President William Ruto on Thursday announced the dissolution of the entire Cabinet. The only information on Kuria's X profile is the Head of State Commendation Award given to him by former President Mwai Kibaki. "Awarded HSC by President Mwai Kibaki, 12th December 2009," Kuria's X profile reads. However, his Facebook page still had the title of a Cabinet Minister.

Kenya's electricity distribution company (KPLC) has issued a warning about power outages in several areas of the country on Monday, July 8. In a statement released on Sunday evening, the company said the outages will be due to maintenance work being carried out on the equipment. They mentioned that some areas in four counties in Kenya will be without power between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM. The affected counties include Nairobi, Narok, Tharaka Nithi, and Embu.

The Head of State said he does not control other arms of the government as they operate as required by the constitution. Ruto, being the head of the Executive, said he can not decide for the Judiciary nor the Legislature "The President is not a dictator. Zambia's former First Lady Esther Lungu Zambia's former First Lady Esther Lungu and her daughter Chiyeso Katete have been arrested over possession of properties suspected to be proceeds of crime. The two were arrested on Thursday in the capital, Lusaka, alongside another close relative identified as Charles Phiri, authorities said. Ms Lungu "failed to give a reasonable explanation" of how she acquired a $30,000 (£24,000) estate in the capital, the state anti-drug agency said.

A man who had been arrested and booked at the Kamukunji cells, in Nairobi has died in custody. Boniface Mutembei had been booked over claims of disorderly conduct in the area. He was arrested on May 29 night on the streets and later booked in the cells. Other cellmates had told the officers at the report office the deceased was complaining he was sick. On Thursday morning, Mutembei is said to have collapsed in the cells.
