Heavy metals are toxic and non-biodegradable in nature, thereby heavy metal pollution is an undeniable environmental problem [1], [2]. The copper ion (Cu2+) is a concerning source of heavy metal pollution because of its serious and irreversible damage to ecosystems and human health [3]. Severe cases of copper toxicity may cause liver necrosis, renal failure, and even death. As reported, the concentration of copper in wastewater is ranged from approximately 2.5 to 10,000 mg/L [4].
