A 1-day-old, healthy, full-term boy born by cesarean delivery for placental abruption to a 31-year-old primigravid mother was noted at birth to have an erythematous patch on his lower lip. This asymptomatic lesion did not interfere with his ability to feed. Physical examination showed a well-appearing infant without evidence of asymmetry, overgrowth, or digital anomalies.
