A nursing agency has applied for permission to knock down a care home in Jersey and replace it with supported living apartments. Apex Nursing Agency has proposed that Longfield Villa Care Home on La Rue du Bocage, in St Peter, be demolished and 14 one-bed rental apartments be built in its place for people over 55 years old. The proposal outlines a facility for an onsite manager, car parking spaces, bike storage, electric car charging stations and a public footpath along the road.

A road in Kingsbridge will be closed on Wednesday morning as police continue to investigate the death of a woman. Devon and Cornwall Police said Aimee Pike, 22, died on the road at New Bridge on 23 April after an incident involving a vehicle. A man who has been charged with her murder appeared in court on Monday. Police said the A379 Embankment Road would be closed from 09:30 BST until 12:00 to allow officers to photograph the area.
