1 Introduction Classic Grounded Theory (sometimes referred to as Glaserian Grounded Theory) is a general research methodology that can use both qualitative and quantitative data (Glaser and Strauss 1967). It aims to conceptualise what people do and generate explanatory theory. It is a set of procedures that guides the researcher from when they enter the field of research to when they exit.
