Demand for battery energy storage system (BESS) components grew 89% in Brazil from 2023 to 2024 and most of the resulting systems are likely to be installed in 2025. That demand, part of a BESS market which could be worth more than BRL 22.5 billion ($3.79 billion) by 2030, was recorded by Brazilian consultancy Greener in its “Strategic Study on Energy Storage” report. Greener found Brazil reached 685 MWh of energy storage capacity last year, with 70% of BESS not grid connected.
