The Creative Friends held a successful opening night of its 2024 exhibition titled ‘Once Again with my Friends’ at the Narrabri Art & Craft Gallery on Friday, October 18. An appreciative crowd of around sixty art enthusiasts enjoyed viewing the talented works of our local art group, who get together on Thursdays to draw and paint in the convivial and supportive atmosphere of the Narrabri Art & Craft Society.

A cultural evening of Pacific Islands dancing, music, and haka performed by religious group ‘Crossroads 2421’ was enjoyed by an enthusiastic crowd at the Narrabri High School BettyBerriman Hall on Saturday, September 28. The group travelled from Melbourne for the Narrabri Schools’ Ministry fundraising event. Narrabri Schools Ministry is an initiative of combined churches of Narrabri to support and encourage the young people of Narrabri to find their worth and value.

A celebration of the Killarney Classic was held at The Exchange on Thursday, September 12. Sponsors and members of the original and current committees alongside regular helpers attended the event. On display were scrapbooks with photos and newspaper clippings put together by former president and founder Annie Lampe, showcasing the Killarney Classic bike rides which have taken place since 2010. The Killarney Classic committee will fold within the next month with surplus monies donated to Can Assist.

DRAGONS & Other Beasties was the mystical theme for Narrabri artist Graeme Compton’s latest exhibition staged at the Narrabri Art & Craft Gallery with the opening night held on Friday, August 16. Gallery coordinator Janice Smith was delighted with Friday evening’s attendance. “A large crowd attended the opening. “The Dragons just came alive in the ambience of the evening light, and everyone seemed to be enchanted by the beautiful artwork.
